Vasa Radio To Go Virtual<\/strong>
\nIn the words of Vasa Radio Hour host and emcee Leonardo Quamba (affectionately referred to by adoring fans as \u201cDr. Quamba\u201d), \u201cThe show must go on!\u201d Thus, for the second consecutive year, the staff of the popular, local variety show has decided to play it safe and go virtual.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know that this will be disappointing to many Dr. Quamba fans,\u201d commented Assistant Executive Producer Roger Nieboer, \u201cAnd we really wanted to get him back in front of a live audience, but the timing just isn\u2019t night.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vasa Radio Hour staff sought the advice of local medical personnel, state epidemiologists and the CDC, before arriving at a difficult but unanimous decision. \u201cOur goal has always been to pack as many people as possible into the Paradise. But we just didn\u2019t want to put anybody at risk: cast, crew, or audience. We\u2019ve seen the devastating effects of COVID. We just didn\u2019t want to become a super-spreader event,\u201d added Nieboer.<\/p>\n

The upside to all of this is that this year\u2019s show, which will livestream on YouTube at 7 pm on Saturday, Feb. 12, will offer a wider array of performing artists ranging from local to international acts.<\/p>\n

\u201cThanks to our sponsor, Welia Health, we\u2019ve got a little bit of everything, from percussive dance and a zen clown, to the homegrown rock-n-roll of The Groove. Above all, it’ll be a fun show. And we can all use a little bit of fun right about now,\u201d summarized Quamba.<\/p>\n
