SPIRE Credit Union dedication to Greater MN Credit Union

SPIRE Employees at the December 14 Dedication of
Greater Minnesota Credit Union Heritage Pieces

(L to R): Carey Venhuizen, Roxann Carlson, Sheryl Olson, Jenny Thieman, Bridget Petersen and Dan Stoltz
SPIRE Credit Union recently hosted a dedication of heritage pieces to commemorate the legacy and history of Greater Minnesota Credit Union (GMCU), which merged with SPIRE in July 2014.  In attendance at the ceremony were former GMCU Board and Supervisory Committee members, several SPIRE senior managers, and other employees from the various branches.  Historical items were collected and used to create this display, which celebrates the strength in community it built throughout its 79 years.

A group of SPIRE employees, formerly GMCU employees, collaborated on the heritage commemoration, unveiled on December 14 in the Mora office.  A display will also be located in SPIRE’s Milaca, Isle, Elk River, Pine City and Ogilvie branches.

In 1935, the Co-Operators Credit Union was established in Mora. From its depression-era beginnings, it expanded into surrounding communities, growing into the flourishing financial institution of Greater Minnesota Credit Union. Today, operating as SPIRE Credit Union, their cooperative roots have only grown stronger with nearly 90,000 members.

“I am so proud of the work this team has done to honor the spirit of Greater Minnesota Credit Union,” says Dan Stoltz, SPIRE President & CEO, “We look forward to helping our communities grow and prosper well into the future!”

About SPIRE Credit Union: SPIRE Credit Union has been proudly serving Minnesota and Wisconsin residents since 1934, and is a full-service financial institution committed to providing smart products, great rates and excellent service for both personal and business members. SPIRE has 16 branches across the metro and throughout northern Minnesota.

Hi!
My name is Marika Gougaud and I am a casting director in Sweden.

I am emailing you in regards to our Emmy award winning TV show “ALLT FÖR SVERIGE” (English title Great Swedish adventure)

We are very happy to announce that we are now conduction a nationwide casting for season 7. Season 6 and 5 was beyond successful we broke records in viewings.

We are searching for Americans who badly want to find out more about their Swedish heritage and come over and be a part of an adventure that you never will forget.

Swedes settled down all over the states when they immigrated back in the days.

So we thought we would ask if you know any people with a little Swedish blood. We would be extremely grateful if you could either put up our flyer at your facility, forward our email, print it in a newsletter, post it on your website, or put it up on FB like social media- with other words please feel free to pass it on!

Our deadline to apply is Feb.10, 2017. The show is shooting in the summer (end of May- June 2017) in Sweden.

Go on our website to apply: http://www.greatswedishadventure.com/

I´m also attaching the first episode of season 3 so you get an idea what kind of show this is.

Thank you so much for your time!

All the best,

Marika

GRAND CASINO “GIVING PATROL” MAKING GENEROUS
VISITS TO A COMMUNITY NEAR YOU
Gifts of the Season Giving Program lets Grand Casino Guests and Associates nominate local non-profits to receive one of four $5,000 donations

Onamia, Minn. and Hinckley, Minn.  – The essence of the holiday season is rooted in the joy of giving. That’s why Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Grand Casino Hinckley will be donating $20,000 (split into four $5,000 donations)  this Holiday season through the ‘Gifts of the Season’ Giving Program.

The nomination process will run from Monday, December 12 – Thursday, December 15. During this time people are encouraged to nominate a nonprofit organization of their choice on the Grand Casino MN Facebook page or website.

Following the nomination process, a selection committee will meet to review the nominations and select four finalists based on eligibility requirements.  To be eligible to receive a donation, the organization must be a 501(c)3 doing charity work in Minnesota, and must fall within Grand Casino’s categories of giving which include health and human services, arts & culture, education, environment or holiday giving.

The Grand Casino Giving Patrol will then surprise one finalist each day from Monday, December 19 through Thursday, December 22, with a $5,000, in person donation.
